Go to Start

Select Control Panel

Select Appearance and Personalization

Select Personalize

(*Shortcut: You can right click an empty area of your desktop and select 'Personalize' from the resulting menu.)

Click the link near the bottom of the page titled: "Open classic appearance properties for more color options"

Under the Color Scheme category, select "Windows Vista Basic" from the menu options.

Click Apply
