How to remove a computer's power supply.
|
Computer Hardware
|
|
M-TEC Solutions does not recommend
that anyone attempt to repair a computer's power supply. However if you
are a trained technician and you want to repair a power supply allow the
power supply a minimum of 24 hours to dissipate all stored electrical
charge.
-
Make sure the computer
is off and unplugged.
-
Open the computer case.
-
Disconnect the
motherboard's internal power cable, hard drive's internal power
cable, floppy drive's internal power cable,
CD/DVD/ROM internal power cable, and the on/off internal power switch.
-
Unscrew all screws that
hold the power supply into the computer case.
-
Remove the power supply.
Note: The power
supply is the only dangerous part of a computer. Take care when
removing, repairing, and replacing a computer's power supply.
